What is an alpaca?

Alpacas are so peaceful.
High in the Andes (Ecuador, Peru, Chile), the alpaca calls these regions home.
The alpaca is a domesticated subspecies of camel. (Beware: It can occasionally spit!)
During the time of the Incas, it was used to carry heavy loads on dangerous mountain treks. Today, it is primarily bred and shorn for its wool. The yarn is exceptionally fine and therefore easy to work with.
Alpacas are peaceful animals that are unafraid of humans.

Why Alpaca?

Comfortable and thermoregulating
Alpaca offers numerous advantages in many ways.
Especially during the cold winter months, alpaca impresses with its excellent comfort and thermo-regulating properties. Even at temperatures as low as minus 3 degrees, you can easily go outside wearing an alpaca vest. The fibers of alpaca are hollow, allowing them to effectively store or release heat.
Alpaca is also ideal for allergy sufferers. Thanks to its low fat content in the fiber structure, allergy sufferers can easily wear jackets, sweaters, or ponchos made from alpaca.
